Best XLB for the price! Great pork flavor with hot piping soup. Maybe if I only tried their other bao dishes this place would've been a legit 5 star! I can't remember having this good of XLB since I first had Din Tai Fun about 10 years ago. Rest of the dishes also hit the mark. I was only a little disappointed with the portion of the $29 fragrant pot. It's just a bit pricey for the size of the pot. Other places may charge a little more but it's large pot enough to serve 4 or more. I'm not a fan of the small paper plates as we had 6 entrees to squeeze little servings onto them. My best advice is to come here and go crazy on the XLBs. I may skip on the fragrant pot since you can get 2 dishes for the price. Next time I'll try their soup dishes and more appetizers. Chinese food of this nature is best when you have variety.
I went here on a weekday for lunch since I was craving Soup Dumplings. It was very quiet. I didn't mind since we're still in this pandemic. My server was very nice and the service was quick. I placed my order through the phone and my food came out quickly along with soda and water. My first course was the Spicy Wontons. They were amazing. Full of flavor, good portion sauce and a nice kick. Perfect spice for the Szechuan Peppercorns. Then I had the Pork Soup Dumplings. Hot & Steamy and super yummy. I love ok'ing a hole and sipping the broth. Then dipping the dumpling in a soy, vinegar & chili paste sauce. I am Definitely coming back to this place.
Wonderful and attentive service! Our waiter Wang, was very attentive and friendly who always checked up on us. Great atmosphere and delicious dishes. Our favorite and first time trying were the: Pork dumplings ( so much we ordered 2 ) , sweet and sour ribs with a side a rice. Highly recommend
Despite COVID restrictions, the staff were able to seat us near immediately. The menu is plentiful with options, and my favorite was the Crab Salted Egg Yolk Tofu. Everything we ordered was truly delicious though. And since we ordered too much (which we notoriously do with dim sum) they provided us with durable to-go containers. This dim sum location is great in Milpitas. When restrictions are lifted, their biggest problem will be that it won't be large enough to hold the crowds inside!
This place is great and the flavors are all on-point. The filling for both the pan fried buns and the xiao long bao all reminded me of authentic Shanghai flavors, and were juicy and piping hot. The beef roll had a nice amount of veggies in it to add a texture contrast and a nice crunch. The only reason I docked it a star was that the porridge was more like rice in water. It needed to be cooked longer to get that porridge consistency. It's located in Milpitas Square so there's parking in the shopping center. Overall a great meal.
